The Parenthood Fair.

It was all excitement for us when we visited the Parenthood Fair 2010 at the Expo last Sat, as we managed to take part in the Parent-Child Lookalike Contest!

Pardon for the poor quality photos as they were snapped with the Hubby's Blackberry, as our digicam weren't charged. Lesson learnt - charge up the cameras before every outing. =P

It was funny how the baby girl slept just before the compere interviewed us before the judges! She wouldn't budge a bit when I tried to wake her, and that got the audience laughing! And we did have some supporters too! We met Baby Arman and family at the fair and they lended us some cheers and support!

So when that's done, we made some great deal of purchases, one of them being the Avent Food Steamer and Blender, going at $150 instead of the retailed $199!

As the little one moves onto the weaning stage, preparing fresh and healthy food is my top priority for her now, and good food in the early stages is vital to later developments. This two in one steamer and processor makes it simple for working mummies like me to prepare meals conveniently, as it steams AND blends with just a flip! The package also includes a recipe book for ideas on preparing yummy meals for the little one to enjoy. Soo loving it!!

So, you were asking me the reasons why I love baby fairs? ;)

That weaning stage.

I have been eager to introduce semi solids to my baby girl since she was the age of 4 months, the age perfect for weaning. Now that she has reached six, there is definitely a wide variety of ready foods for infants out there in the market. There are a few trusted brands that I decided to try for my baby girl.

Yup, Heinz is a great choice as they have been around since so long, and I myself sample the foods before I feed my baby girl, and yes, I would have eaten them myself! And now, there is a wider variety and thus, more choices and tastes for the little ones to try.

Heinz Farley's Rusks are great for a breakfast snack for my little girl, and she enjoys it on its own mashed with warm water, or added into her daily milk feeds.

Heinz selection of pureed food is my baby girl's dinner, and there are so many tastes to choose, she will lick them off her spoon on every mouthful!

Heinz teething rusks is when she gets cranky because of her sore gums, she will be eased by biting into those hard biscuits.

And here is my baby girl happily enjoying her favourite biscuit snack - Heinz Biscotti in Green Apple flavour.

Dilemmas of a working mother.

I have just rejoined the workforce for about a month now after a 4 month long paid hiatus. Thanks to the gahmen.

My little girl is 5 mths now, and she has really grown from a mere 2.54kg little bub at birth to all of 6.1kg now. She's had all her 6 vaccinations, and she's growing pretty healthy I must say, compared to some of her peers.

It was tough getting back to work, after bonding with her during my leave. Leaving her to a helper while I went out to work was a tough thing to do as I had no other choice. I hurry home everyday after work just so I could feel assured again when she's in my arms. Other times, she refuses to let go of me when I had to leave for work, and it just pains me. I envy mothers who gave up their working life to be a full-time homemaker, as I know it is a very big sacrifice to make. There are many times where I thought of resigning to be a homemaker myself, but after much consideration, I decided that I still need the resources of holding a job and a career.

I would love to be there through all of her milestones, through every single step she makes in her growing up years. Till now, every little thing she does still amazes me much.
